After Davide Mordini, Olbia also lost Ludovico Gelmi due to injury, probably for the rest of the season.
In a press release issued in the evening, the Gallura club takes stock of the conditions of the 21-year-old goalkeeper who arrived on loan from Atalanta. Far from reassuring.
“Leaving the field due to the consequences of a game clash that occurred during the Reggiana-Olbia match played last December 10, Ludovico Gelmi underwent the necessary instrumental examinations and checks which highlighted, on the left knee, a partial lesion of the posterior cruciate ligament, an injury to the medial meniscus and an injury to the popliteus muscle,” reads the note issued by Olbia Calcio.
"The goalkeeper will continue conservative therapies in these days before a new medical consultation determines the methods of treatment of the injury and the relative recovery program".
The times, if surgery were necessary, would be extended by several months, which is why the club would be looking around for a replacement to join Maarten van der Want in the first team, taking advantage of the reopening of the transfer market on 2 January.
