Olbia announces the call-up of Fahamedul Islam to the national team: the young Italian-Bangladeshi winger, born in 2006, has been called up to join the Bangladesh team that is preparing to qualify for the Asian Cup.

Having arrived in Olbia two weeks ago from Livorno, Islam immediately made his mark with a hat-trick in the Under 19s, and on Sunday in his first-team debut he almost scored the equaliser against Paganese. Born in Feni, Bangladesh, he moved to Italy at a young age, and grew up as a footballer in the youth sectors of Spezia and Sampdoria.

"I am proud and happy for this call-up: it is a beautiful thing to play for your country", says Islam. "I am ready and I hope to do well. I grew up here, but the bond with my nation has never changed, and that is why the call-up makes me very happy".
