On the eve of the 12th day of Serie D, Olbia presents Zé Maria. Who then presents, in turn, the match with Costa Orientale Sarda. "President Guido Surace called me, and here I am: Olbia is a stimulating challenge", began this morning the Brazilian coach, third coach of the whites since the beginning of the season but already contacted by the club this summer, when there was talk of repechage.
The former full-back of (among others) Parma, Perugia and Inter will debut tomorrow in the friendly walls of the “Nespoli” in a derby that is also the match between the bottom of the class. A challenge within a challenge for Zé Maria, who arrived on Wednesday in place of the resigning Lucas Gatti and after Olbia's first victory, achieved last Sunday on the pitch of the “big” Savoia. “The derby is always a special match, in Milan, where I played, as in Sardinia: in these few days that I had available I spoke with the boys and asked them to be more united and aggressive on the pitch”, explained Zé Maria. “From the point of view of mentality I found a weak team due to the results: in this we have to change quickly, and playing a derby gives the boys extra motivation”.
Let's welcome, then, the match with Cos, bottom of Group G with 2 points, 4 points behind Olbia, and also coming off a handover on the bench between the fired Francesco Loi and the former Cagliari and Torres Sebastiano Pinna, who moved from the Ferrini bench to that of Sarrabesi during the week. "Since I don't know the players well, I will continue the work that has been done so far and what we saw in the last match", Zé Maria said about tomorrow's match. "I asked the boys to keep up the pace for 90 minutes, because against Savoia when we were ahead 3-0 in the first half we conceded a goal in the last minute before the break and we slowed down in the second half, and they accepted the challenge", added the 51-year-old coach, who already has experience in Serie D, dating back to 2010, at the helm of Città di Castello.
"From a tactical point of view, we will continue in the wake of Mister Gatti's work, but from next week I will start to set up my way of playing. In any case, I would have no problem continuing with the 4-3-3: it will depend on the players, if they are happy with it or if it will be the case to change", he then concluded.
Teams on the field at 2.30pm: referee Luka Meta from the Vicenza section.
