Nine thousand jobs worldwide and production cuts. This is what the Japanese carmaker Nissan has predicted, after the decline in sales recorded in recent months in China, Europe and the United States . However, the announcement did not specify a timetable.
A victim of the cold snap that hit the global auto sector, the company plunged into the red from July to September, on the basis of much weaker-than-expected quarterly results that led it to sharply revise its financial forecasts downwards.
“Faced with the gravity of the situation , Nissan is taking urgent steps to reverse course and create a more responsive and resilient company that can quickly adapt to market changes,” the group said in a statement.
