New honor for Balata: Mattarella names him Officer of the Order of Merit

New honor for Mauro Balata, a lawyer from Gallura and former president of Lega B. He was appointed Officer of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic by President Sergio Mattarella on the proposal of the President of the Council of Ministers Giorgia Meloni.
The ceremony took place in Rome, in the Sala della Protomoteca del Campidoglio. Balata, born in 1963, was president of Lega B from 23 November 2017 to 16 December 2024, now led by Paolo Bedin. He has many commitments in the world of sport, football and beyond. So much so that he received the Golden Star for sporting merit from Coni .
Balata, among other things, has also held positions in FIGC (member of the Presidency Committee) and the role of head of delegation of the Italy Under-21 team.
