The sound of the most extreme metal, straight from the peninsula to the capital: on Saturday 18th, Cagliari 's Fabrik will host the grindcore of veterans Neid from Viterbo, who will perform from 9.30pm in the venue on Via Mameli 216 , supported by the melodic punk of the islanders A Fora De Arrastu as opening act.
The band on tour
Formed in 2007 by musicians active in the fervent local hardcore scene, which had established itself in the middle of the previous decade with bands such as Tear Me Down , Razzapparte , Manifold & Flopdown , they debuted in the same year with the ironic, violent and frenetic " 3mst ". But only three years later, inspired by the wave of international projects of the brutal death school, they veered their style towards a more mature and even more aggressive grindcore , as already witnessed by " Il Cuore della Bestia " (2011) and subsequent works.
A choice that would be compensated for in the following years, allowing them to perform in over five hundred concerts and play between Europe, America and Asia, shoulder to shoulder with international bands of the genre such as Brujeria , The Accused , Uncurbed and many others. With a production that counts more than twenty releases, Neid have thinned out their activity starting from 2017, breaking the silence in 2021 with a song dedicated to the late Claudia Rae Acciarino of Xcaracox. But it is with " Still Offensive " (2024) that they return, in a tribute to the scene of origin that boasts artwork by Zerocalcare .
The Sardinians at the opening
Afda (or A Fora De Arrastu) was formed four years earlier, also boasting a vast catalog spread over time, including numerous splits, singles, and demos. With a raspy, distorted, yet profoundly melodic style , the quintet has always made its identity known through lyrics in Campidanese, with strongly militant and political themes: after collaborating with Affluente in 2019, Afda are returning after a long hiatus, definitively ended with the release of the single " Disigiu de furriai su mundu a fundu susu ".
