Italy beat Israel 4-1 (1-0) on matchday four of the Nations League.
The goals in the first half were scored by Retegui in the 41st minute from a penalty, in the second half by Di Lorenzo in the 9th minute, by Abu Fani in the 21st minute, by Frattesi in the 27th minute, by Di Lorenzo in the 34th minute.
The Azzurri thus run away at the top of the group standings, one step away from mathematically qualifying for the final eight, which would also be worth the top seeding position in the draw for the World Cup qualifiers.
Worth noting is the debut of Daniel Maldini, the third generation of champions.
The security measures in Udine were extraordinary, during the days of strong tensions in the Middle East: everything was armored outside the stadium, snipers on the roofs, while far from the facility, pro-Palestinian supporters were parading through the city.
On the pitch, however, everything begins with whistles at the Israeli anthem (then covered by applause) and ends with a "peaceful" invader, tackled before getting to ask for Calafiori's shirt.
