The Napoli scarf on the school secretary's noticeboard could not stay. Decision of the principal of the Orosei comprehensive institute Silvia Meloni, not shared however by the employee (and big fan of the Neapolitan team) who tried until the end to keep it hanging. The turning point came with a service order that imposed the removal of the relic. "What happened was offensive and discriminatory", says Nicola Cerullo , from Campania and administrative assistant in the middle school since 2018. He also has a past as a marshal in the air force. "A good 18 years - he says - then I decided to change my life" and began the new job in 2018.

The object of the “discord” between the manager and the official arrived in the office two years ago “when Napoli won the championship. “But it has always been a way to joke with all the kids, who often come to school wearing the jersey of their favorite team,” Cerulli confesses. Things changed when “in my absence, the scarf was removed and placed on the desk with a note. “ To take away ,” it said. But I put it back in its place. A colleague of mine was notified of the fact, and I – verbally – was not told anything.” After the failed removal, the service order arrived, with which the principal ordered that “by 2:00 p.m. on October 4, I would have to remove all personal effects (the scarf) from my desk. I contested the letter, forwarding my response for information also to the provincial and regional school office.”

But it would have been of little use: "I received another communication in which the principal confirmed the provision, this time I simply obeyed, I could not do anything else. But it is not the right thing to do, especially in a public school where integration and respect are taught", confesses Cerullo. The principal, interviewed on the subject, preferred not to comment.
