The 26th edition of Monumenti Aperti restarts in the name of "Our beautiful".

From 23 April to 5 June, for six weekends, the event that returns to the public after the digital and mixed version draws an itinerary among churches, palaces, archaeological sites of 38 municipalities in Sardinia. With an autumn tail dedicated to the national team.

A journey from pre-Nuragic to Nuragic, to Punic Phoenician, Roman times, the Middle Ages and up to the 1900s, thanks to the skilful guidance of 15,000 volunteer guides, mostly students. They are entrusted with the story of 500 "monuments".

Three new entrances: Dorgali, Ittiri, Tuili. For the first time the event will be held under the High Patronage of the European Parliament.

"Let's start again from spring, to mark the desire to make Monumenti Aperti return to being that community celebration, that collective rite, which has always been - underlines Massimiliano Messina, president of Imago Mundi which organizes the event - now the goal is to give life at the Community Heritage Foundation. Alongside the theme of innovation and good practices for the enhancement of cultural heritage, the role of Foundations will be at the center of the annual national conference.

OPENINGS - In the 2022 program, the pre-Nuragic and Nuragic testimonies of centers such as Villanovaforru , with the Genna Maria Archaeological Park, and Quartu Sant'Elena , with the Nuraghe Diana and Padria, with the Nuraghe Longu are revealed along the routes. From here to the Phoenician and Punic traces of Monte Sirai in Carbonia . Then again the Roman City of Turris Libisonis, in Porto Torres , with its fantastic mosaic tiles with marine motifs, Cagliari , the Karales capital of the Sardinia et Corsica province. We reach the medieval period with the Castle of Sanluri and the walls of Iglesias .
