Pavoletti, again, saves Cagliari in the 93rd minute, thus drawing the last friendly match of the pre-season at the “Braglia” stadium with a score of 2-2 against former Bisoli's Modena.

The home team took the lead in the 33rd minute with a dirty shot from the edge of the area by Gliozzi. Two minutes later, Piccoli equalised, heading home Obert's cross. From the spot, in the 17th minute of the second half, Palumbo converted the penalty after touching Hatzidiakos with his arm. In the third minute of injury time, another winning (and providential) header from captain Pavoletti following Makoumbou's throw.

The rossoblù broke the ice with Scuffet in goal, Zappa, Wieteska, Obert, Zortea, Adopo, Marin, Deiola, Augello, Luvumbo and Piccoli, deployed through the 3-5-2. At the start of the second half Hatzidiakos, Prati, Makoumbou, Lapadula and Pavoletti then came on. Then again Veroli, Felici, Jankto, Azzi, Sherri and Kingstone.

Thus ends, after two intense weeks, the crucial phase of preparation away from Sardinia for Davide Nicola's new Cagliari. The first official match of the season in the Italian Cup will take place on Monday 12th at the Unipol Domus. Six days later, still on the island, the league debut against Roma.
