The twenty-ninth edition of the International Guitar Convention was held at the Milan Conservatory, a day that brought artists and enthusiasts from all over the world to the city to celebrate the magic of the six strings.
Milan was transformed into the capital of classical guitar during the annual International Guitar Convention, where artists and scholars gathered for a full day of concerts, conferences and speeches. Among vibrant notes and passionate discussions that animated the halls of the Milan Conservatory, one of the most anticipated moments was the awarding of the prestigious Chitarra d'Oro, the recognition that celebrates excellence in the world of classical guitar.
One of the most coveted awards was won by Davide Mascia, a young Sardinian talent of just twenty-two years old, who received the Golden Guitar for the best video of the year .
The video, which shows Mascia grappling with three pieces by contemporary composer Alessandro Solbiati, is visible on his YouTube channel and is already attracting the attention of enthusiasts and experts in the field. For the young guitarist, originally from Esterzili and a student at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, this is yet another recognition in a constantly growing path. During the concert in Milan, Mascia performed not only pieces by Solbiati, with whom he had the privilege of working directly, but also two pieces by Spanish composer Vicente Asencio, offering the audience a taste of his technical mastery and interpretative sensitivity .
Mascia's career is proceeding at a rapid pace towards an ever-widening horizon: already in June he triumphed in the twenty-first edition of the Altamira Gorizia Guitar Competition, a very high-profile competition that often launches young talents towards international careers. Mascia defeated the competitors in the category without age limits, a victory that testifies to the artistic and technical maturity reached by the guitarist, despite his young age.
A brilliant path that has deep roots: «I started playing when I was little», says Mascia, remembering the beginning of his passion . «This passion has become a profession, and step by step I am trying to build it to be able to live off music. This competition is a great assist to grow further».
Meanwhile, Mascia looks ahead and, among her future plans, there is the desire to enter a higher education school and, one day, to teach at a Conservatory.
