The program for converting city gas from LPG to natural gas, published by the local distributor Medea , is continuing successfully on our island. After the Municipalities of Buddusò, Sedilo, Simala and Siurgus Donigala, in September it will be the turn of Mandas, Valledoria and Santadi, followed by Genoni, Terralba and Arbus in October. The program will conclude in December with Budoni and the completion of the conversion of Olbia, divided into three phases. Gaxa , the main Sardinian energy supplier , has extended its offer dedicated to methane to these locations.

How to switch to methane?

Switching to natural gas is simple. For customers already served by LPG on the network, it is sufficient to sign the new Gaxa supply contract and proceed with the adaptation of the internal system. Those not yet served by the gas network must request the connection, sign the contract indicating what to use the natural gas for (cooking, heating and/or hot water), and build the methane system. By entrusting the work to the technician working with Gaxa, the cost of building or adapting the system will be borne by the Sardinian company up to a maximum of 500 euros , including VAT.

In order to guarantee the continuity of the supply, it is necessary to sign the contract before the conversion date of the Municipality. By the end of 2023, over 35,000 Sardinian families will be able to choose methane, benefiting from an option with a lower environmental impact and savings of up to 30% compared to LPG on the network.
