McLaren pole at Australian GP, Ferrari disappointment: reds in seventh and eighth position

Lando Norris with McLaren will start from pole position in the Australian GP, the first race of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship. In the front row, next to him, there will be his teammate, Oscar Piastri. Second row for Max Verstappen, with Red Bull and George Russell with Mercedes. Ferrari disappointment, with Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton in seventh and eighth position.
Norris clocked a time of 1.15. 096, beating Piastri by 84 thousandths. Verstappen was almost four tenths slower than the Briton, while Leclerc was 659 thousandths off the pole time, Hamilton by as much as 877.
In front of the Reds, in fifth and sixth position and therefore on the third row, were Yuki Tsunoda, fifth with Red Bull, and Alexander Albon, sixth with Williams.
Fifth row for Pierre Gasly, ninth with Alpine, and Carlos Sainz, tenth with Williams. Eliminated in Q2 were Isack Hadjar (RB), Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll (Aston Martin), Jack Doohan (Alpine) and Gabriel Bortoleto (Sauber).
