Matteo Berrettini wins the Gstaad tournament, ATP 250 on Swiss red clay, and returns to the top 50 in the world.

The Roman tennis player easily gets rid of the French Halys in the final. There was only one set to play, in the second - after the interruption due to rain - the blue's rival gave in also due to physical problems: the final result was 6-3, 6-1.

Berrettini had already given excellent signals at Wimbledon, where only an unlucky draw that put him in front of Sinner in the second round saw him leave the scene at the end of four hard-fought sets.

This is the ninth title of his career, second in Gstaad for him, who yesterday defeated the number 1 favorite of the tournament Stefanos Tsitsipas in the semifinals playing great tennis. The world number 50 will now fly to Kitzbuhel for another clay court tournament, then it's off to American hard courts. The goal, far from impossible if Berrettini continues like this, is to be among the top 32 seeds in the US Open, a tournament in which he literally exploded, surprising everyone and reaching the semi-finals in 2019.
