Renata Erika Szabo, the mother of Jeremy, the eldest son of Marcell Jacobs, has a hard outburst against the Tokyo 2020 Olympic champion.

In an interview with the weekly “Chi”, the woman retraces the most painful passages of a difficult past, made for her son by continuous renunciations and disappointments.

Starting with the most recent episode, the arrival of his father at the airport in Rome after returning from the Olympic games. “Jeremy had to go and pick him up at the airport with all his family - said Erika -. Too bad, however, that the day before he landed, my grandmother sent me a message to tell me that Jeremy couldn't go because there was no room for him in the car ”.

Erika and Marcell met at the Sirmione bowling alley where she worked. At the end of an evening, he asked her for her phone number. "He was cute and I said yes - he explained - We started to hear each other, then to see each other and there was a great desire to always be together". A real love at first sight, therefore, and even though “we were only 19, we were full of enthusiasm and dreams together: we had plans, we wanted our own family, our own little house”.

Hence the arrival of Jeremy. “We met in October 2013, and in March 2014 I was pregnant,” explains Erika. A beautiful story with his mother who accompanied him to visits, then the birth, 12 hours of labor, and finally the caesarean with Marcell who was by his side all night in the hospital.

Then the separation between the two, and the mother's pain for the words released by the champion in an interview with Corriere, where he spoke of Jeremy as a "happened" son. “I was a boy”, said the sprinter, “and I experienced it very badly, like someone who is doing something out of altruism, but reluctantly”.

"That my son was a mistake is unacceptable", Erika thunders today. Then again: "When you break up with your partner, you shouldn't leave your son as well. Jeremy has nothing to do with it: Marcell will always remain his father and he she needs her dad ".

“He knows what it means not to have a father - adds Erika - because he who knows that disappointment doesn't behave in another way?”.

In the visits after the separation between the two, Erika continues, “there was not the shadow of a regularity. And he also stopped paying support for his son, he paid nothing for a year ”. Now in the middle there are the lawyers. “We wanted my son, it didn't happen, I can't tolerate this, it's not the truth, Jeremy will grow up and read these things and it's crazy”, the bitter conclusion.
