For the second consecutive year Orosei becomes a hotbed of classical music talent thanks to the Violin, Piano and Chamber Music Masterclasses promoted by the Municipal administration led by the Mayor Elisa Farris and coordinated by the Councilor for Culture Mario Siotto and the Councilor delegated for public education Daniela Contu, who is also the director of one of the area's excellences in the musical field, the Urisè women's choir.

The educational activities, supported by the violinist Giorgia Boldini, the transmission belt between the Milan Conservatory and the Baronia, will take place until Sunday 17th and will involve young musicians from all over Italy and students from the island's music schools.

The courses will be held by teachers Manuel Meo and Ida Varricchio, holders of chairs at the "Giuseppe Verdi" Conservatory in Milan and renowned concert performers.

Two names of excellence on the national artistic scene and appreciated internationally.

They have performed as soloists and chamber musicians in the most prestigious halls in the world including the Sidney Opera House and the Melbourne Concert Hall in Australia, the Santa Cecilia Auditorium in Rome, the Smithsonian Institute and Indiana University in the United States of America , the Teatro Coliseum in Buenos Aires, the Ankara International Festival, the Oslo Conserthus, the Teatro La Pergola in Florence and many others in Italy and in various parts of the world.

Their activity has been marked by prestigious collaborations including some sacred monsters of world concert music such as Myscha Maisky, Pavel Vernikov, Alain Meunier, Denis Shapolapov, Kostantin Bogino, Thomas Cristian, Miwako Abe.

The intense program of the Oroseina musical week, hosted in the evocative setting of the Palazzo della Vecchia Finanza, recently renovated and particularly suitable for this type of initiative, also includes two evening events with free entry.

This evening, Thursday 14th, at the Sanctuary of Nostra Signora del Rimedio at 9.30 pm concert of strings and female voices for Su Remediu with protagonists Manuel Meo and Giorgia Boldini on violins together with other concert performers and talents from the Peninsula, while for the part sung will be the Urisè female choir directed by Daniela Contu.

Tomorrow at 7pm at the old Finance premises there will be a performance by the students of the masterclasses who will perform a highly enjoyable repertoire involving the best students of the Peninsula and student musicians from the area with special guests the students of the "Muggianu" Institute of Orosei.
