Marco Baroni is no longer the coach of Lazio, with the bench returning to Maurizio Sarri. Now there is also the official announcement of the Biancoceleste club which, through an initial press release, wanted to thank Baroni himself for "the professionalism and commitment shown at the helm of the first team", wishing the coach "the best of professional fortunes".

Then the second announcement, that of Sarri's return: "After the experience that began in 2021, the Tuscan coach returns to wear the white and blue colors," Lazio reports. "Recalled by an unbroken bond with the environment, with the fans and with a team that, under his guidance, has been able to express ideas, play and belonging. The club confidently entrusts Sarri with the technical helm of the project, with the belief that his style, his consistency and his work culture represent solid foundations for building an ambitious present and a future worthy of Lazio's history ."

Lazio President Claudio Lotito commented: "Sarri has returned home. His return is a choice of heart, conviction and vision. With him we want to resume a path interrupted too soon, aware that together we can bring back enthusiasm, identity and ambition . Welcome back to your home Commander."

Baroni arrived at Lazio a year ago, paying for a negative end to the season with the team that – with one point in the last two games and just one home win in 2025 – failed to qualify for the European cups.
