Young tourist raped while unconscious, 23-year-old boy arrested

A 23-year-old boy of Moroccan origin was arrested in Bologna on charges of sexual assault against a 22-year-old Finnish tourist.
The events took place Saturday night in the university area of the city. The girl had been drinking and was sitting on the ground at Largo Respighi in a state of unconsciousness, when she was made the object of "sexual attention".
A small group of people had gathered around the young tourist and, among them, was the 23-year-old who allegedly took advantage of the situation to harass her. The intervention of the policemen came from a series of requests arrived at 113 by citizens who reported a girl in difficulty, with some men around.
The patrols went to the scene and found the 22-year-old lying on the ground and unconscious, they rescued her and alerted the 118 who transported her to the hospital.
The Moroccan, who was among the people around her, was blocked after an escape attempt. The vision of the cameras in the area then made it possible to reach serious indications of guilt against the young man, arrested for the crime of sexual violence and taken to prison.
The young man is currently requesting special protection and his application is being evaluated by the Territorial Commission, the Bologna Police Headquarters informs.
