He allegedly stabbed his wife to death and then called the police himself. It happened last night in Ferrara. The man, 52-year-old Vladimiro Lombardi, has been arrested.

When the 118 emergency personnel arrived at the couple's apartment in the Barco neighborhood, they could only confirm the death of the woman, 50-year-old Samanta Zironi.

Lombardi was transferred to the police station and for the moment has availed himself of the right not to answer the first questions of the prosecutor on duty .
