Weather: for Easter and Easter Monday Italy is "split in two"
It will be almost summer in the South, while there will be thunderstorms in the North. Possible showers in Sardinia
Italy will be split in two on the weather front for the Easter holidays.
While in the south there will be an unseasonal heat wave - with even peaks of 33°C - in the north there will be showers alternating with sunny spells with cooler temperatures (maximums between 15 and 18°C in the plains.
«The line of separation between the almost autumnal and summer weather will run more or less between Lower Tuscany, Umbria and the Marche; north of this imaginary line Livorno-Ancona we will have scattered showers, south of this line we will find temperatures around 22-25°C with peaks above 30°C between Sicily, Calabria and Puglia", explains Andrea Garbinato, of www.iLMeteo .it.
In detail, more heavy rain for the next few hours between Eastern Liguria and Upper Tuscany, very unstable weather also in the Triveneto with showers, snow in the Alps above 1000 meters and high water in Venice; along the Tyrrhenian coast there will be slightly more variable moments, elsewhere the weather will improve even if it will remain windy almost everywhere.
From tomorrow the African anticyclone will rise again towards the Balkans and part of Italy: the greatest protection from high pressure is expected in the southern and Adriatic regions, but the day will be fair almost everywhere except for frequent showers in the North-West and the Alps Tense winds from the southern quadrants.
Same variability scenario for Saturday.
For Easter and Easter Monday it seems that the Spanish disturbance will hit Northern Italy, marginally Tuscany and the Marche. However, the same disturbance will attract warm air from North Africa with temperatures well above the average for the period in the central southern Italian sector.
Therefore: for Sunday, showers are expected in the morning in Liguria, the Alps and Triveneto, locally in Upper Tuscany and the rest of the North-West; from the afternoon rains and showers will concentrate on the Alps and Triveneto, elsewhere there will also be some clear spells; south of the "imaginary Livorno-Ancona line", the weather will be mostly dry, sunny and warm for the period. For Easter Monday the situation should be very similar with showers in the Centre-North (also possible in Lazio and Sardinia ), alternating however with greater clearing in the afternoon.
