"The shameful attacks by criminals against the police continue: in Milan for a demonstration characterized by damage and aggression, in Turin during an illegal rave, in Rome with ultras unleashed in violence of all kinds . In the face of this unworthy and unacceptable behavior , the police forces continue to carry out their work with balance and professionalism, ensuring the safety of the community in very difficult conditions. They deserve the gratitude and full support of the government."

This is how the Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, commented on the episodes of violence that have taken place in the last few hours. The toll of the pre-derby clashes outside the Olimpico is, in particular, " thirteen injured police officers, some hit in the legs by stones thrown and others involved in the explosion of numerous firecrackers ".

For this reason, Piantedosi added, "in addition to the security decree recently passed, we are determined to carry forward any further measure necessary to guarantee the safety of men and women in uniform."
