The weekend that has been classified as the hottest of the year is approaching: the African anticyclone Charon will bring a significant increase in temperatures, both minimum and maximum.
"In Sardinia, temperatures will reach 40°C, up to 39°C in the South with peaks of 37°C also in Florence and Terni, while the Capital with 36°C will continue to experience a never-ending heat wave, which began in early July", anticipates Antonio Sanò, founder of iLMeteo.it.
But it will be the minimums that, during the next few days, will determine the record heat of this weekend 2024: «There will be “hot sleeps” and we will also have the decidedly African night of the stars 2024. The minimums, in fact, on Saturday 10 August will not fall below 27°C in Brindisi and Genoa, determining almost supertropical nights (the night is tropical when the minimum does not fall below 20°C and is defined as supertropical when it does not fall below 30°); all of Liguria will suffer very hot nights, but also in Massa, Messina, Reggio Calabria and Treviso the minimum expected will be around 25°C with 24°C in Florence, Naples, Pisa and Venice».
Even the maximum temperatures, however, will be North African, close to 40°C from north to south, disturbed very little by the local afternoon thunderstorms expected on the Alpine and Apennine reliefs.
