Trieste, young woman hit and killed by a Jeep while crossing
The victim, originally from the province of Milan, was 25 years old.

A 25-year-old woman, Marta Gianelli, a resident of the province of Milan, was killed instantly when she was struck by a Jeep while crossing Via Fabio Severo in Trieste. The accident occurred late yesterday evening, after 10:30 PM, and was extremely violent: the Jeep, traveling on a slightly uphill stretch near Vicolo del Castagneto, struck the woman.
The dark-colored Jeep apparently failed to brake, and the girl was thrown more than ten meters. After the impact, the SUV ended up on the safety island between the lanes, knocking down the railings.
The road is well lit on that stretch of road, so local police are still working to reconstruct the exact circumstances of the accident. The Jeep was driven by a man from Trieste.
