The brother of Cardinal Angelo Becciu, Antonino, president of the Spes Cooperative of Ozieri, and the priest Don Mario Curzu, director of Caritas in central and northern Sardinia, should have testified today in the Vatican trial on the management of the funds of the Secretariat of State, but they did not show up in court.

Through the lawyer Ivano Iai they have opposed an alleged lack of guarantees in the Vatican for those under investigation in another proceeding. And an accusation is pending on them by the Sassari prosecutor's office.

The Tribunal across the Tiber, presided over by Giuseppe Pignatone, however deemed the communication sent by the lawyer to be "unfounded and inadmissible", considering that such guarantees also existed in the Vatican, and the absence of the two witnesses to be "illegitimate". The hearing has been rescheduled for next March 31st.
