Marin Jelenik, a 36-year-old Croatian, is the man arrested by the State Police in the Brescia area and believed to be the killer of Alessandro Ambrosio, the 34-year-old train conductor stabbed in the abdomen last night, January 5th, in the parking lot of the west forecourt of the Bologna train station, in an area reserved for employees. The man, who was in front of the train station at the time of his arrest, was undocumented and was identified through a special fingerprint comparison system by officers from the Desenzano del Garda police station.
The victim, a commuter on medium- and long-distance trains, was walking to the station's employee parking lot on Viale Pietramellara before the murder when he was stabbed in the abdomen. An Italo employee found him on the ground and immediately alerted the railway police.
