Tragedy struck Bagheria, in the province of Palermo. A volleyball player, Simona Cinà, 20, was found dead overnight in the pool of a villa where a private party hosted by two recent college graduates was taking place.

There are many points that need clarification: "There are too many things that don't add up," explains lawyer Gabriele Giambrone. " For a long time, no one noticed that Simona was in dead water. Yet the pool is small and the house was full of young people. Furthermore, the girl was face up. If she had fallen into the water, they wouldn't have found her in that position . And even assuming that she felt ill while in the pool, how come no one saw the body?" "No one notified the parents, who, worried because Simona hadn't returned at 4:50 a.m., called her cell phone. A young man answered," the lawyer says, "and said their daughter was ill. They rushed to the house, where a graduation party had been held, and found her dead ." Emergency services were reportedly called around 4:00 a.m.

Simona's best friend had dropped her off at the pool party at 3:00 AM. What happened between 3:00 AM and 4:00 AM? "We've asked for an urgent autopsy," continues the lawyer, who arrived at the villa at dawn and found dozens of young people still waiting to be questioned. "No one saw or heard anything, yet some were still wet, a sign they'd just gotten out of the pool. How is it possible they didn't notice anything?" Another unclear aspect, for the criminal lawyer, is the scene the investigators found. "The house was clean and there was no trace of alcohol," he explains. "It seems strange to me. Just consider that the invitation sent to guests on WhatsApp guaranteed 'we want to keep you hydrated' with alcohol symbols next to it. Yet when we arrived, there were only plastic bags with empty water bottles inside ." "Simona was a health-conscious person," he concludes, "who was very careful about her diet; she didn't drink. What happened to her?"

The Carabinieri interviewed the partygoers to try to reconstruct what happened: one of them was taken to the station for DNA sampling. Traces of blood were found in the villa, but the young man said he kicked out of shock after hearing about the tragedy and injured himself. However, the blood will be further investigated.
