Terrible road accident this morning in Marone, in the Brescia area, along the provincial road 510 on Lake Iseo.

A truck driver, to avoid impact with a car, skidded and ended up down an embankment: he flew 60 metres, even going beyond the railway line below, the Brescia-Iseo-Edolo, which was invaded by debris.

Initially it was thought that the driver had been thrown out of the cockpit during the flight and subsequent impact with the rock. After a few hours of searching among the vegetation and in the waters of Lake Iseo, rescuers found the lifeless body of the man, a 48-year-old from Pisogne (Brescia). He was still in the passenger compartment of his truck, which remained balanced on the rocks directly overlooking the lake.

Traffic along the road went haywire, train traffic was also blocked due to debris that invaded the line. The firefighters, the traffic police, the local police, the carabinieri, the ambulances and the air ambulance from Milan intervened on site.
