Francesco Pio Maimone, born in Pozzuoli, in the province of Naples, 19 years ago, and resident in the Pianura district of the city, died of a stamped foot.

The incomprehensible, unacceptable tragedy took place last night, around 2.20, in front of a well-known kiosk in Mergellina , on the seafront of the Neapolitan capital.

According to what was reconstructed by the police, a dispute broke out over a simple stamped foot . Francesco had nothing to do with it but someone pulled out a gun and fired 2-3 shots at eye level . The 19-year-old was taken in the chest, nothing friends and rescuers could do.

Investigations by the Naples Flying Squad are underway into the incident. The Police listened to the witnesses and acquired the images of the video surveillance systems to identify those responsible for this absurd story, yet another on the street of the chalets in Naples, where the nightlife is concentrated at the weekend.

On the ground, the policemen found only one nose cone while the report sent to the police - by the Guardia di Finanza - reported the explosion of 2-3 shots.

"Mergellina is no man's land, they shoot wildly among the people", comments the deputy of the Greens Francesco Emilio Borrelli, who once again asks for "an answer from the state". According to the deputy, "we need to quickly understand what is happening: it is certainly not the first time that the Mergellina chalet area has become the scene of settling accounts between rival clans and criminal gangs that are contending for the territory".
