Due to the yielding of the shelves, about 25,000 wheels of Grana Padano fell yesterday evening into the shed of a cheese factory in Romano di Lombardia, in the Bergamo area, where the owner, a 75-year-old entrepreneur, was working and was fatally crushed under the cheeses.

Perhaps a failure in the system that moves the forms caused the fall of a first shelf, which caused a deadly domino effect that left no way out for man.

About twenty firefighters intervened on the spot yesterday evening, who removed the wheels of Grana and only in the morning managed to find the lifeless body of Giacomo Chiapparini, owner of the homonymous company.

The economic damage was also considerable, a total of 25,000 cheeses fell in an area of 2,000 square meters.
