The 27-year sentence was final for the perpetrator of the murder and three new appeal trials, including that for the victim's ex-girlfriend Anastasiya Kylemnyk.

This is what the Court of Cassation established in the proceedings linked to the murder of Luca Sacchi which occurred on 24 October 2019 in front of a pub in Rome. The supreme judges confirmed the heaviest sentence for Valerio Del Grosso, the young man who killed the personal trainer with a gunshot to the head. There will, however, be a new appeal process for Anastasiya Kylemnyk, who is accused of violating the drug law. Encore appeal also for Paolo Pirino and Marcello De Propris.

The first was Del Grosso's accomplice in the attack, the second handed over the murder weapon: both were sentenced to 14 years and 8 months in prison.

«I am satisfied with the sentence even if no one will give my son back. I hope - commented Luca's mother, Concetta - that Del Grosso serves his sentence in full. He does not realize, and perhaps never will, the pain he has caused."

The judges therefore partially confirmed the request of the Prosecutor General's Office which had asked for Kylemnyk's sentence to also be made final. «Del Grosso - said Giuseppina Casella during the indictment - shot Sacchi aiming with his arm outstretched at the head, the desire to cause the victim's death is evident. De Propris provided the weapon, Pirino knew from the beginning that Del Grosso had the gun with him and remained indifferent to the victim's death. There was therefore a coordinated, collective action, with a common objective."

The murder of the personal trainer took place as part of a negotiation for the sale of drugs, substances and money that was never found. A negotiation took place between Luca Princi, a friend of Sacchi and definitively sentenced to 3 years for violating the drug law, and a group of pushers from the San Basilio district. In fact, Princi would have put in the backpack that Kylemnyk had with him that night the 70 thousand euros needed to purchase drugs which he would then leave in the car before going to the pub.
