Swimming in the sea ends in tragedy: father and 6-year-old son die
Dramatic moments in front of the beach of Ischitella di Castel Volturno. The man was trying to rescue the little one, at the mercy of the waves together with his older brothers
Tragedy in the sea of Ischitella di Castel Volturno , in the province of Caserta.
A man and his 6-year-old son of foreign origin drowned while taking a bath . Help was useless.
From what we learn, the man was at the sea with three minor children, aged 6, 10 and 13, on the free beach.
According to an initial reconstruction by the Coast Guard, the children entered the water, but the current dragged them away from the shore. The father dived to rescue them, together with other swimmers and lifeguards.
The two eldest sons were rescued, but for the younger son and for the man - who had to succumb to the sea in an attempt to help the little one - there was unfortunately nothing to be done.
