To "correct" an overly lively pupil he had lined up his 22 primary school classmates telling them to mimic the gesture of spitting at him.
The episode, which took place in the Vicenza area, dates back to November 2013. Today the trial that definitively confirmed the sentence for abuse of the means of correction against a teacher: one month and ten days of imprisonment and compensation for damages. moral for 5 thousand euros.
The Supreme Court declared inadmissible the teacher's appeal, which claimed that after that fact the child had understood and had improved his behavior.
The parents of some of the children had started the prosecution, and upon returning home they had told them what the teacher had ordered them to do. The child's mother was informed of the fact, and the head teacher suspended the teacher for 10 days.
In front of the magistrate, the teacher had argued that it was a sort of "role play" to appease the child. And that that game had "worked". A version that did not help convince the judges.
