Hours of apprehension for a speleologist from Brescia, Ottavia Piana, who remained trapped in the Bueno Fonteno cave, in the Bergamo area.
The alarm was given late yesterday evening: the woman is believed to be about 4 hours from the exit area . The SOS was launched by her expedition companions who managed to get back up.
The 32-year-old had been trapped in the same cave last July, for two days, in a spot not far from where she is now, an area that until a few hours ago was unexplored , a cave still in the process of being discovered.
On site are firefighters, carabinieri and technicians from the National Alpine and Speleological Rescue Corps. According to specialists , the rescue operations will be long and complex from a technical point of view.
