"Contagions and hospitalizations are decreasing but attention remains high, the virus is circulating." This was stated by Emergency Commissioner Francesco Figliuolo, who launched an appeal to the health system.

"Now we are entering a more favorable phase, in which health resources can be rebalanced towards the treatment of serious diseases and prevention".

The acceleration on the booster dose is fundamental, “without which there would have been other consequences, even on the economy”.

On the fourth dose: “For now it is not foreseen. If necessary in the future, only for immunosuppressed and elderly people, we can imagine leveraging a more capillary administration with pharmacies, general practitioners and pediatricians ”.

THE DATA - Meanwhile, there are still one and a half million Italians over 50 who are not vaccinated, a hard core that the obligation has not managed to convince. Overall, 5.8 million Italians over 5 years old have not received any dose of the anti-Covid vaccine.

The latest data from the commissioner structure indicate that 81% of the population, about 48 million people, has completed primary school. The third dose was inoculated to 34.4 million people (58.1%).

In these first days of February there is a slowdown in administrations: in January there was an average of 548 thousand doses per day, from 1 to 3 February the average dropped to 385 thousand.
