He had collaborated with the Public Prosecutor's Office of Palmi , reporting the sexual abuse he had suffered at the hands of the gang which also included some offspring of 'ndrangheta families from the Reggio area.
For this reason, she was allegedly subjected by her aunt and cousin to repeated physical and verbal violence , threats and harassment as well as several episodes of injuries with the aim of making her recant . In one case, the young woman was allegedly beaten with a rope used as a whip after being lured into a real "trap".
Now, the aunt, aged 78, has been placed under house arrest, and the woman's son, aged 47, has been served with a restraining order prohibiting him from approaching the injured party.
The measures were notified, in Castellace di Oppido Mamertina and Scido, by personnel from the Palmi Police Station and by the Carabinieri of the Stations dependent on the Palmi Company, assisted by a Police Dog Unit and were issued on 18 April by the GIP of Palmi at the request of the PM Letterio De Domenico of the Prosecutor's Office directed by Emanuele Crescenti.
The victim of the violence by family members is one of the two girls, the other is from Seminara, minors at the time of the events - from January 2022 to November 2023 - abused by a gang of young people who had also filmed the violence as a blackmail weapon and which also included some offspring of 'Ndrangheta.
The first-degree trial for the abuses ended last March with six convictions ranging from 13 to 5 years and seven acquittals. The basis of the order executed in recent days are the investigations conducted respectively by the Police and the Arma, which would have ascertained the violence committed, according to the prosecution, with the aggravating circumstance of abject motives, that is "out of hatred and resentment" felt by mother and son towards the victim , "guilty" in their eyes of having collaborated with the judicial authorities.
