He falls in the rest home where he is a guest in Marino, on the outskirts of Rome, hitting his head. And the owner of the facility, instead of calling the ambulance, decides to "medicate" her with a box of frozen peas .
But the conditions of the old woman, an 88-year-old woman who was already ill, fell overnight. Only the following day did they take her to the hospital, where she died after nine days in a coma .
The facts date back to Tuesday 2 May, in these days the handcuffs for the owner of the rest home, a 42-year-old man, were released.
The woman, in a wheelchair, fell by herself injuring her head. But the owner, after having rescued her, instead of calling the ambulance decided to place a box of frozen peas on the wound. The next day, seeing that the woman's condition had worsened, the employees of the facility who found her almost unconscious in bed, called an ambulance . The woman was rushed to the Tor Vergata hospital and the doctors were reportedly told she had fallen the same day .
Here, after nine days in a coma, the old woman died. And the investigations began: thanks to checks on the telephones and the testimonies of the workers of the rest home, it emerged that the 88-year-old had actually fallen the day before. And that timely treatment could have saved her life . For this reason, the owner of the rest home was arrested and ended up in prison in Velletri .
