Sestri Levante: 7-year-old girl sucked into swimming pool drain in critical condition

A 7-year-old girl was sucked into the drain of a swimming pool at a beach resort in Sestri Levante. She was taken to the Gaslini Institute with a red code and is reportedly in critical condition.
It happened this afternoon. As soon as the family realized the little girl was trapped, emergency services rushed to the scene. First, the beach lifeguards, then the ambulance crew dispatched by 118, spent over half an hour resuscitating the girl, who was then airlifted to the Gaslini hospital in Genoa.
The Coast Guard and the Carabinieri of Sestri Levante are on site. The plant is under seizure.
