Crash with the truck, Riccardo and Dennis died on a scooter at the age of 18: "The truck ran a red light"
The accident at dawn in the heart of the Garbatella district, witnesses reported a risky maneuver by the heavy vehicle
Drama this morning at dawn in Rome, in the heart of the Garbatella district.
Two 18-year-old boys died in a road accident on the Ostiense ring road .
The two young men, who were on a scooter, collided with a refrigerated truck just before 6.30am.
The victims are Riccardo Marchese and Dennis Di Tuccio, childhood friends .
One died instantly, the other was transported in very serious condition to the Tor Vergata hospital , where he lost his life shortly afterwards.
The driver of the heavy vehicle stopped to help them, he too was taken to the hospital for tests and to check for any use of alcohol or drugs.
According to some eyewitnesses of the crash , the refrigerated truck would have run a red light, overwhelming the two boys. The investigations are underway: the local police officers have taken care of the findings and among the hypotheses there is also that of a risky maneuver by the driver of the truck.
