Samantha D'Incà, the thirty-year-old woman from Belluno who had been in an irreversible vegetative state for 14 months and for which her father Giorgio had requested and obtained authorization for end-of-life treatment, has died, becoming the support administrator.
The woman, we learn from health sources, died Saturday morning at the end of an accompanying path to death. For a few weeks she had been hospitalized in the "Gaggia Lante" social welfare facility in Belluno.
She went into a coma on December 4, 2020 due to the consequences of a serious infection she contracted after an operation in the hospital for a fractured femur.
The nursing home where the young woman died is private, and therefore does not fall within the services of Ulss 1 in the Belluno area.
There was no living will of Samatha. For this reason, after the doctors had established that the patient would no longer be able to recover, and that however she continued to suffer from severe pain, her father, Giorgio D'Incà, had started a long legal battle until he obtained from the Court of Belluno, on 10 November 2021, the post of support administrator.
In recent weeks, the conditions of the thirty-year-old had worsened further: the death occurred at the end of the accompanying path to the end of life requested by the family and authorized by the judiciary after the identification of a dedicated medical college.
