Deputy Prime Minister and League leader Matteo Salvini has arrived at Bollate prison, where he will visit jeweler Mario Roggero after his first night in prison.
The jeweler was sentenced to 14 years and 9 months in prison for killing two robbers in 2021.
Outside the prison, a delegation from the Lega Giovani (Young League) also arrived to demonstrate support for Roggero, holding signs and a banner calling for a pardon. Salvini was joined by MPs Luca Toccalini and Fabrizio Cecchetti.
