Sabrina Minardi, ex-wife of footballer Bruno Giordano and partner of Enrico De Pedis, boss of the Banda della Magliana known as Renatino, has died at the age of 65.
Minardi, who played a key role in the case of the disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi, died yesterday in the province of Bologna. Thanks to her statements in 2006 a second investigation was opened into the disappearance of the young Vatican citizen.
"She died peacefully like someone who knows she's told the truth," wrote journalist Raffaella Notariale in a Facebook post in which she announced the news of her death. "She passed away after going to the hairdresser, she had made herself blonde and beautiful because she was waiting for her greatest loved ones," she added. " She died in her sleep, Sabrina... and I'm sorry for that on a human and professional level. Not one, but a thousand ideas that she offered that most people didn't want to take up. Not least the Commission of Inquiry into the Emanuela Orlandi case... What were you waiting for, sir?"
