A 23-year-old woman reported being raped on Saturday night near the Jonio metro station in Rome . The Carabinieri, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office, are currently investigating the incident to determine the circumstances of the incident.
The alarm was raised a few hours later when the student went to the hospital. She reportedly said she had been held down by two men and raped by a third .
At 3 a.m., the girl went to Pertini Hospital, where doctors raised the alarm. The 23-year-old student said she was stopped in the street near a metro stop by two men and sexually assaulted by a third. She described the attackers as North African nationals who then disappeared without a trace .
Footage from local surveillance cameras is being examined and any witnesses are also being sought.
