No quarantine for the vaccinated and a reinforced green pass for all workers. These are the requests of the Regions to the government in view of a probable modification of the quarantine rules for contacts of positives (which at the moment is seven days for the vaccinated and ten for the unvaccinated, with negative swab at the end of the period).
The governors demand that "all close unvaccinated contacts" continue to be quarantined as today. And that for those vaccinated with a third dose, or with a second one for less than four months, the quarantine is cleared. For the latter, in essence, it would be necessary to go from quarantine to self-surveillance, turning to the doctor only in case of symptoms.
Thus the Regions are trying to lighten and change the contact tracing system, now skipped throughout Italy, and to avoid blocking an entire country with millions of asymptomatic people in quarantine. To overcome the tampon chaos, moreover, it is asked - again for vaccinated people with three doses or with a second dose for less than four months - to carry out the tests only in the event of the appearance of symptoms.
A reinforced green pass is also urged for all workers to tackle the Omicron wave. "We will ask the Government for the introduction of the Super Green pass in the workplace. This request will be the subject of a meeting today with the Executive", say the governors.
The governors met this morning and sent a document with their requests to the CTS. The opinion of the experts of the Scientific Technical Committee is now awaited, the meeting of which has just ended. At 4.30 pm the control room and then, probably, a Council of Ministers that has not yet been convened.
