Messina had been blocked since last Monday and had slept in a sleeping bag before being hosted, for the last two nights, by a family from Villa San Giovanni.

The appeal was accepted by judge Elena Luppino, Messina was assisted by the lawyers Grazia Cutino and Maura Galletta.

"We reserve the right to investigate the legal reasons for the decision, but we can immediately say that we have very favorably welcomed the provision of the Civil Court of Reggio Calabria thanks to which Mr. Messina will be able to ferry to Sicily", is the comment of the lawyers. “We are very happy to have brought him home,” they added.
