A 72-year-old man has been arrested for attempted murder by police in Turin .

The episode occurred on the evening of January 1st, but was only made public today by the police.

The attack took place in Corso Maroncelli, a southern outskirts of the city. According to investigators' reconstruction, the man allegedly came down from his home into the street, yelling that the dog was too noisy and then hit the woman, 63, who was with a friend, seriously injuring her .

The men of the flying squad and the ambulance intervened on the spot and transported the woman to the hospital, where she was admitted with a reserved prognosis, in the intensive care unit. The investigations revealed that there had already been arguments between the two in the past, always because of the dog. The Turin Prosecutor's Office requested and obtained the validation of the arrest of the 72-year-old .
