A 2-year-old girl suffered burns to her face and upper limbs after a pot of boiling oil spilled on her.
It happened yesterday evening in a house in Carmiano, in the province of Lecce.
Rescued by her parents, the little girl was taken to the emergency room of the Vito Fazzi hospital in Lecce, where she was stabilized, and then transferred to Perrino in Brindisi. Her conditions are stable.
As far as we know, the little girl was first treated by health workers at the Burns Center and then admitted to the Pediatrics ward.
According to an initial reconstruction, the little girl was at home with her parents when suddenly, unseen, she went into the kitchen and knocked over the pan of boiling oil that was on the stove.
The Carabinieri are currently investigating what happened.
