Surprise visit today by Pope Leo XIV to the Senate.

The Pope went to Palazzo Madama for a series of meetings, starting with the one with the

President Ignazio La Russa. "Accompanied by the Secretary General of the Senate, Federico Silvio Toniato," the Holy See explained, "in the Hall of the Files, after a brief greeting with the Vice Presidents, the Quaestors, and the Presidents of the Senate Groups, Leo XIV unveiled the veil placed on the image of the Child Jesus in the traditional Nativity scene."

In the afternoon, the Holy Father then went to Palazzo della Minerva for the exhibition on the Borso d'Este Bible.

Prevost's day began at the apostolic nunciature on Via Po, where the pontiff also stopped for lunch.
