Three race marshals ended up on trial for the death of Pietro Alberto Brocca, a 22-year-old jockey from Dorgali and a resident of Mores who tragically fell on the San Rossore track (Pisa) in January 2021.

The young man was thrown from his horse, fell to the ground and was crushed by a horse that was behind him.

According to those who investigate the track was not suitable for authorizing a race. The race was suspended and then allowed only after an adequate arrangement of the land, which was in conditions that made it very dangerous.

For this reason, the magistrate sentenced Mauro Camuffo, Stefano Lotti and Antonio Gentile to trial for manslaughter in competition.

In the process, the young man's parents filed a civil action. The serious accident occurred on January 21, 2021, Brocca died three days later in the hospital from a lung puncture, head and spine trauma.

The boy would have had to enroll at university to become a veterinarian, and in the meantime he was helping his father as a horse trainer.
