A turning point in the investigation into the murder of Francesco Capuano, the elderly man killed last December 23 in the garage of his home in Suzzara, in the Mantua area, with several gunshots to the head fired at close range.
This morning the Carabinieri arrested the victim's 46-year-old daughter, Rosa Capuano . The motive for the murder, according to the investigative reconstruction, would be attributed to the woman's desire to free herself from the father figure, considered possessive, as well as to the suspect's belief that she would become universal heir.
Rosa Capuano was stopped by the Carabinieri in Giugliano, in the province of Naples, at her sister's house where she had moved immediately after the murder , since her home in Suzzara had been seized. She is charged with premeditated murder and illegal possession of a firearm.
The investigations are still ongoing, but according to investigators, serious evidence of guilt has already been gathered against the daughter.
On the morning of December 23, the woman alerted the emergency services claiming to have found her father's body on the driver's seat of her car, inside the box located in the condominium garage in Suzzara. The woman told the police that she had accompanied her father to the garage to go out with the car, as she did every day, and then went back up to the house to get an object she had forgotten. Upon returning to the garage, after more than half an hour, she said she had found her father's body.
The autopsy later established that Francesco Capuano, a 79-year-old pensioner, died between 9 and 9:30 am, with three bullets fired at point-blank range to the head.
