A 12-year-old girl is in very serious condition after being hit by the locomotive of a freight train at a level crossing on the railway line that runs alongside the industrial area in Padua .

The teenager was taken to hospital; her condition is critical .

The dynamics of the accident are being examined by the Polfer, who intervened with the police and the carabinieri.

It cannot be ruled out that the little girl may have tried to cross the tracks while the level crossing was closed .
